Kotecki TV vs. MSNBC?

James Kotecki, of Politico.com and EmergencyCheese/PoliticoPlaybook on YouTube, is having a "feud," of sorts, with a couple on-air personalities from MSNBC. It seems as if the MSNBC folks made some comments and James...well...take a look at his hilarity from the past two episodes:





Being called "unoriginal" by somebody reading someone else's words off a teleprompter? Odd.

If it were up to me, I'd give James a 10. I hope they invite him onto their show!

Best cover EVER. A couple country music fans from France cover a Toby Keith classic. I love these guys!

Waitin' on a Woman

What a cool idea! "Waitin' on a Woman" is a great Brad Paisley song, originally on the "Time Well Wasted" album (which, by the way, you should definitely buy if you like country music...or oxygen). I guess the powers that be decided to release that song (or at least the video?) and add it to the new album, "5th Gear." Not that 5th Gear needs any help--I think it has already yielded four #1 singles.

Anyway, it's a great song...can't wait to see the show at the Jamboree. The video was just posted to the Brad Paisley channel. Check it out!

Things That Make Me Go Yelp!

If you're a frequent reader of this blog, you probably already know how I'm a big fan of Yelp.com. I check it frequently--before trying a new restaurant, attempting to find a certain type of cuisine, service, professional, etc. Here is a fan video, starring yours truly, expressing my love for the site.

ACM Awards

The ACM put on a great awards show last night. A bunch of great performances. A little bit of everything, too. I hope you caught it. Here's a clip of one of my favorite performances of the night, sung as a tribute to Eddy Arnold (country music legend who recently passed away):

Terribly Sad...or Happy...

"A man has to stand for something." Talk about character. I can't tell if this story is more happy than sad, or vice versa. It's certainly thought-provoking.

When I was younger (maybe 11 or 12), I used to like "Mystic" fruit drink, which came in a bottle. On a road trip, my mom went and bought what she thought was Mystic fruit drink (similar bottle and color). After having some, and reading the label, I realized it was an alcoholic cooler. So she told me to stop drinking it and I did. The situation worked out and--while it must be difficult for Michigan Child Services to comprehend--nobody had to be taken into custody!

Alexander Ovechkin reached the coveted 60-goal mark last night, as the Capitals made a late comeback in Atlanta. How exciting!!!

I think there is no doubt in anybody's mind that he is the clear MVP this year...but that's a whole other blog...

Rate Your Cop?

I'm a fan of consumer feedback and customer reviews. One of my favorite websites is Yelp.com, which is home to a spectacular community of restaurant, business and other reviews.

It seems now there is a site where you can rate your...police officer? Check out this video about this new site. My favorite quote:

"Officers who are rated face unfair maligning without any opportunity to defend themselves." Law enforcement is a noble profession, but...welcome to the internet! The information revolution will leave no stone unturned. User ratings have evolved past a simple "star" rating. Now even REVIEWS are reviewed! People frown upon the useless. I think the "he gave me a speeding ticket, I hate him!" reviews will be rated accordingly.
